intense chocolate cookie experience

by on March 25, 2010

i forget where i found the recipe

i forget what it was called

i will rename these ‘intense chocolate cookies’

in a medium bowl, mix together 1 1/4 cups flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon baking soda. and 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves.

in a fun little game of “where’s waldo”, only in this case, waldo is the giant bag of chocolate chips, i spent a solid five minutes worrying that i had gone through a family-sized bag of chocolate chips. then, i realized that i had apparently already put the bag on the counter. and i was losing my mind.

while you melt one stick of butter with four ounces of bittersweet chocolate…

stir together 2 eggs + one egg yolk, 1 cup brown sugar, and two teaspoons vanilla.

well, that’s disgusting….

check on your butter and chocolate. melted? glorious.

pour the chocolate into the egg/sugar mixture, and stir.

mix in the dry ingredients. i added a sprinkle of ground ginger, too.

add in chocolate chips. lots of them. mmmmm. cover and stick in the fridge for an hour or so. then, pre-heat the oven to 350, grease up some cookie sheets, and scoop tablespoonfuls of dough onto the sheets. bake for 12-15 minutes.
